Tennessee Equality Project welcomes 16 teams to the TEP Gumbo Contest presented by Hilton Memphis on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 4:30 to 7 PM. Teams will compete for awards in the Judge's Choice, People's Choice and Best Vegetarian/Vegan Gumbo categories in TEP's annual Mardi Gras party. One team will also receive an award for best team spirit. Meet the official panel of local Memphis foodies who will judge the contest.
You'll find familiar and new teams among this year's contestants. Some teams have competed in all seven contests. Registration became competitive as teams scrambled to fill all 16 slots in the contest for 2017. Only a few teams on the waiting list were able to register due to a couple of last minute cancellations. TEP is grateful to all the teams for their commitment to gumbo excellence and full equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their families in Tennessee.
