Changing Hearts, Minds, and Policies in Tennessee

The Tennessee Equality Project (TEP) was founded in 2004 and engages state and local governments in Tennessee on behalf of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community.  We fight negative legislation at the state level such as the Don't Say Gay, License to Bully, and Turn the Gays Away bills.  In addition, we have been active in local governments throughout the state helping to advance non-discrimination and partner benefits measures in East, West, and Middle Tennessee.

The Tennessee Equality Project Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, provides educational programming throughout Tennessee in three key areas.    First is Tennessee Equality Justice, which includes Tennessee Ready for Marriage on DAY ONE and SAFE (Schools Are For Everyone) Tennessee.  Second is Tennessee Equality Works, which includes LGBT Cultural Competency Training and Tennessee Open For Business.  Third is Tennessee Equality Voice, which includes Media Engagement and LGBT Media Training.

You can support the TEP Foundation is when you shop at Amazon.  Simply go to our Amazon Smile link and make your purchases.  0.5% of your eligible purchase amount helps advance equality in Tennessee.

We are a member of the Center for Nonprofit Management , the Equality Federation,  the Blount County Chamber of Commerce, and CenterLink
