How to Help with the Sneaky LGBT Erasure Bill

1. After you have signed the petition at this link, call the Governor at 615-741-2001 and ask him to veto SB1085/HB1111. Include your name and address in the message.

2. Send a handwritten card to the Governor asking him to veto SB1085/HB1111.  Include your name and address.  Send it to The Honorable Bill Haslam at State Capitol, First Floor, 600 Charlotte Avenue in Nashville, TN  37243.

3. Consider a small, monthly donation to help our legislative efforts at this link.

The Tennessee Equality Project (TEP) was founded in 2004 and engages state and local governments in Tennessee on behalf of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community.  We fight negative legislation at the state level such as the Don't Say Gay, License to Bully, and Turn the Gays Away bills.  In addition, we have been active in local governments throughout the state helping to advance non-discrimination and partner benefits measures in East, West, and Middle Tennessee.

The Tennessee Equality Project Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, provides educational programming throughout Tennessee in three key areas.    First is Tennessee Equality Justice, which includes Tennessee Ready for Marriage on DAY ONE and SAFE (Schools Are For Everyone) Tennessee.  Second is Tennessee Equality Works, which includes LGBT Cultural Competency Training and Tennessee Open For Business.  Third is Tennessee Equality Voice, which includes Media Engagement and LGBT Media Training.
